ICCA Sydney 2018

The International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) is a worldwide nongovernmental organisation (NGO) devoted to promoting the use and improving the processes of arbitration, conciliation and other forms of resolving international commercial disputes. Its activities include convening international arbitration congresses, sponsoring authoritative dispute resolution publications and promoting the harmonization of arbitration and conciliation rules, laws, procedures and standards.

An ICCA Congress is held every second year for the presentation and discussion of papers on different aspects of international dispute resolution. These meetings attract a large number of participants from all parts of the world and have made significant contributions to the development of dispute resolution theory and practice. The first ICCA Congress took place in Paris in 1961.

The 2nd ICC European Conference on International Arbitration

Europe is home to ICC, the world’s leading arbitral institution as well as several other institutions and arbitration friendly specialised and experienced national courts. But what are the jurisdictional challenges? How does the European Court of Justice intervene in the arbitration process? What efforts are underway to improve transparency of the arbitration process in the region?

An official event of the Paris Arbitration Week, the conference is a “must attend” for arbitration professionals who want to keep up to date on the latest institutional developments and the evolution of arbitration in Europe. The ICC European Conference on International Arbitration aims to provide answers to the most pertinent questions relating to arbitration in Europe.
