- Acting as Tribunal Secretary in an LCIA arbitration involving agreements for the production of COVID-19 vaccines. The matter is seated in London and governed by English law.
- Acting as Tribunal Secretary in an ad hoc arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules between a Singaporean company and a subsidiary of a Brazilian company incorporated in the Netherlands involving a project for the construction of a semi-submersible production platform for producing oil and gas in Brazil. The matter is seated in London and governed by English law.
- Acting as Tribunal Secretary in an ICC arbitration between a Cayman Islands holding company and a South Korean company in a relation to joint venture dispute concerning the management of a project company engaged in the manufacture and fabrication of piping systems in the UAE. The matter is seated in Singapore and governed by Singapore law.
- Assisting the Presiding Arbitrator in a SIAC arbitration between a Chinese commodities trading company and a Hong Kong affiliate and a PRC affiliate of US-Sanctioned entities in related to the non-payment of outstanding purchase price under two contracts for the sale of condensate oil. The matter is seated in Singapore and governed by English law.

- Acted as Tribunal Secretary in a SIAC arbitration between a Singaporean asset management company and a subsidiary of a Japanese group of companies in relation to a dispute arising out of the development of a luxury resort in Maldives. The matter was seated in Singapore and governed by Singapore law.
- Acted as Tribunal Secretary in a SHIAC arbitration involving an international group based out of the UK and a domestic PRC real estate conglomerate in relation to a dispute arising out of an investment in an international hospital business. - Acted as Tribunal Secretary in an ICC arbitration concerning the sale of automotive parts between a Middle Eastern company and a PRC company. The matter was seated in Hong Kong and governed by PRC law.
- Acted as Tribunal Secretary in an ad hoc arbitration relating to a dispute arising out of a Shareholders’ Agreement between a PRC company and a Singaporean company. The matter was seated in Hong Kong and governed by Hong Kong law.
International Arbitration Experience:
- Represented a leading American multinational technology company in a HKIAC arbitration seated in Beijing concerning the determination of standard-essential patent licensing fees in the context of FRAND obligations under PRC law. The matter involved the application of novel substantive law, complex jurisdictional issues, and multiple rounds of interlocutory procedural applications.
- Represented one of the largest PRC multinational home appliances companies in relation to a professional fee dispute and successfully obtaining a favorable settlement on the eve of depositions of the client’s witnesses in an expedited JAMS arbitration proceeding seated in Dallas, governed by Texas law.
- Represented a PRC subsidiary of a PRC SOE engaged in hydrocarbon exploration operations against an Egyptian company in two arbitrations (one administered by the SIAC and the other ad hoc) seated in Singapore concerning a dispute arising out of a series of agency agreements.
- Represented a leading PRC construction machinery manufacturer in a dispute against a Turkish company in an ICC arbitration seated in Paris arising out of a contract for the purchase of hay baler machines, governed by the CISG.
- Represented a PRC mobile advertising company and its majority shareholders in two HKIAC arbitration proceedings against the company’s minority shareholder in a share transfer dispute involving complicated VIE structuring and Chinese governmental approvals.
- Represented German and PRC subsidiaries of a German technology group against a PRC company regarding the manufacture and delivery of electromobility supplies in an ICC arbitration seated in Hong Kong.
- Assisted counsel in a set of 2 ad hoc and 4 institutional HKIAC arbitrations seated in Hong Kong on behalf of a PRC SOE against an Isle of Man company involving elements of Hong Kong and PRC law in relation to renewable energy projects.
Foreign-Related Chinese Arbitration Experience (Selected):
- Represented a Sino-Japanese joint venture company engaged in the manufacture of specialized carbon products in an English language CIETAC arbitration seated in Beijing against a listed US counterparty in a US$ 40 million dispute arising out of a series of long-term cooperation agreements, governed by PRC law. The matter was settled following the merits hearing with a result satisfactory to the client.
- Represented a Swiss company in an English language CIETAC arbitration against a Hong Kong company in relation to the sale of methanol involving the exercise of a right to re-sale and various shell companies.
- Represented a Ukrainian cardboard products manufacturer and its affiliated company against a PRC company in an English language CIETAC arbitration seated in Shanghai concerning the purchase of production line equipment, governed by PRC law.
- Represented a PRC subsidiary of an American multinational company in a Beijing Arbitration Commission arbitration seated in Beijing against a PRC company for the sale the purchase of compressed natural gas equipment and obtained a favorable settlement for the client.
